Harry and Lena--glad to see you are still there with a joke and a laugh for us, even after such an awful experience.

I think I can say for everyone that we are all willing you to be well enough to see Matt Jnr on Wednesday.

Lots of love xx
Mariana

Only just read the news about poor Lena & Harry. You have certainly been through the mill the last few days. What a terrible experience it must have been for you but you know what they say "You can't keep a good girl down" and you have certainly proved that with your unwavering sense of humour. We loved the line about you turning up at the Beck dressed as Long John Silver!

We will be thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery and look forward to keeping track of your progress.

Take care of each other

Love from Maureen & Harry

I relaxed on Sat evening watching the Rememberance festival from the Albert Hall,it was very moving, and the artists were exellent.I did not find out about your dreadful experience until i logged in today. It will certainly be a day of rememberance for you two!

Wishing you both a speedy recovery.

Best wishs

Thank you Terence, your words are very true, and thank you Gray and Amanda, and Maureen and Harry, we appreciate you kind thoughts. I will get checked out with the doctor. At least all that could have been disastrous didn't turn out that way and it's on Days Like These, and today in particular Remembrance Sunday that we both reminded ourselves that we are not grieving over the loss of a loved one from this Iraq situation like many families are today.
We also watched the Remembrance service last night Seamus, it was indeed very moving and we enjoyed the music and the displays were excellent.
We are pleased that this Annual event continues. We just wish that there was a safer way for some of those elderley veterans to enter the arena, specially after watching Three near accidents coming down those steps last night.
Thank you for your good wishes Seamus. They are very much appreciated.

Really sorry to hear your terrible news, Lena and Harry, but pleased to know that you are both safe and sound, along with your home. I guess none of us can ever be sure what's round the corner even when things appear to be going well. I hope you make a full recovery soon, Lena.

Hi Lena and Harry,

so SORRY to hear about the fire and Lena's accident.
I do hope that you both will be OK and I'm sure that Lena will be as good as new before long.

Just think Lena, you can't do any of the household chores at the moment!

Harry, you will have to do the tidying up for a while yet so you will have to get out the rubber gloves! :D

I hope that the flat isn't in too much of a state but if it is, please don't worry too much. The flat will be as good as new given time. :D

Take care now - I do hope that you both will be able to make the concert this week - seeing Matt Jnr. will certainly bring a smile to your faces. :D :)

Hi Lena & Harry

So sorry not to have said sorry sooner! It sounds like a scary ordeal having to escape from a 9th floor flat. I'm so glad that you made it safe and sound, although the slip at the bottom must have shaken you up even more Lena! Sorry to hear about the black eye as well - as Lionel Bart wrote 'you can always cover one til you black the other one!'

Best wishes to you both for a speedy recovery - I really hope that you make it on Weds - it will give you such a lift to get out and about.

Just a quick update--I spoke to Lena this evening, and was glad to hear that she was sounding better-much stronger. But from what I can gather she still looks quite bruised, and it is very unlikely that she will get to see Matt Jnr on Wednesday.

I know that Marian and Peter are going, i'm sure they will miss Harry and Lena--but hopefully we will get a nice write-up from them--I am especially looking forward to hearing about "Mr Bojangles".

Thanks for the update Marian. It is good to hear that Lena is getting much stronger. Soon the bruises will be healed and she will be as lovely as ever. :)

The Beck just won't be the same this year with so many of us missing. But I'm sure Marian and Peter will represent us all very well. Looking forward to the report. :?: When will we finally be told the songs included in the Neil Diamond medley? :?

I'll find out if I can tell you after the show at The Beck Paul. If not here, I will to any who want to know, by email.
I spoke to Lena last night too. The glaziers are coming this morning to replace the windows that had been cracked with the heat, and their door has been measured for replacement soon. Lena seemed reassured now that these are being dealt with.
As Marian has already said she is still very sore and bruised, and has said they probably won't make it tomorrow, she will let me know definately in the morning. So maybe there's still a glimmer of hope.
We will be seeing them a week on Sunday anyway when we all go to see The Kings of Swing together.
As you've said thing won't be the same this year, but I'm sure Matt will put on a good show, and Peter and I will be sure to tell you all about it.
Marian :D

Thank you very much Jon, Hilary Mike, Marian, Paul Gray, for your kind words , we don't ever know what's around the corner, and Hilary, as far as the chores, it has now emerged that the people in the flat below are unfortunately having chores that they never anticipated with water everywhere.
Mike whatever Lionel Blair said, I'm open for suggestions, and even spoilt for choice really, if suppose if I paint the othere eye black, I could go as a Panda.
It is highly unlikely that we will make Matt's concert, and we were so much looking forward to this evening and meeting Matt and Michele, all those involved in the show, and of course meeting up with Marian and Peter again but we know they will have a great time and will tell us all about it afterwards.
Thank you again Marian, John, Marian, for the beautiful flowers , cards  and calls, to everyone on the forum who has posted such lovey messages , we can't tell you what a great comfort they have all meant to us both.. Things are moving in the right direction now, and this event has told us yet again that it's wonderful to be a part of such a great bunch of people.

Thank you Robert, we appreciate your kind words. Not sure about Lionel Barts dancing, but I'll just take a leaf out of his song "The Day After Tomorrow." from Blitz.
