Just hoping the terrible floods do not happen again in the Yorkshire area, or elsewhere.
We have had torrential downpours all day so far today, with thunder and lightning, here in Berkshire. How is everyone else getting on?
Marian.

Well, it's lights having to be on on here right now Marian, black skies, heavy downpours of rain. Thunder and lightening.
We count ourselves lucky when we watched the tv yesterday and saw yet further disaster the floods have brought to more areas such as Filey in North Yorkshire.
We feel truly sorry for the people who are suffering in all parts of the country, and seeing their homes and possessions destroyed.

Well the heavy rain seems to have eased off a little now and there was even a brief glimpse of the sun. Garden under a lot of water, but we have gravel soil, so it will soak away quickly. Might have to go goldfishing though, as the pond has overflowed.

Not too bad here--some rain but no lightning or thunder--my sister in West London says it is horrendous there--one of her dogs is just terrified, and keeps getting behind the computer desk--not a good idea !!!

I am just off for a walk with the dogs, before it starts again

I have been local shopping and the sun is now shining and it's quite warm. Stepped in a puddle that was unavoidable
Just seen that there has been flooding around Purley Croydon and Richmond areas.

Went for a paddle on the grass! The first time in the 42 years we've lived here...it was nice and warm just like the seaside, but without getting sand between your toes!

:D :D :D

Hi....Just been watching the news, and seen all the bad weather in the South, and in Berkshire.. Hope all is ok with you Marian, it did mention Reading ?

Heavy down falls of rain here again, my Daughter is over again from Spain for a few days, and being in the rain this afternoon, she will be glad to get back on Monday !

Ok where I live, although I am high-up, (good job), but get caught out sometimes with the winds....

Yes thanks Angela, we are fine. We live in a village a few miles south of Reading, which is quite high up. The rain was really torrential though, so our garden did get swamped for a while, but being gravel soil it soon disappeared. I know other areas around Reading and Maidenhead have had it very bad though, so we are very lucky here, apart from a leak in the roof.

It was fine here in Blackpool this morning, but we had heavy rain this afternoon up until about 10pm, but it has stopped now....for the time being anyway.

Decided to have a short spur-of-the-moment break on the East coast with our 7yr old grandson on Wednesday-nearly opted for Filey! Bad enough in Bridlington-heavy rain and sea mist. Some sunshine though and we caught it slightly!
Our son & his family are driving back today after a holiday in S. Devon!I hope they avoid motorway flooding especially around the M5/M42 junctions etc.

Been to my Aunts in south Manchester today and it has been a lovely day, we even sat out in the deck chairs to have a picnic, but it started raining at about 4pm and it never stopped all the way home to Blackpool.

Glad you had a nice day with your Aunt John.
It's been glorious sunshine here all day. We haven't been out though.
Harry has been watching the golf. I've been listening to the internet and the radio.

It rained up here AGAIN today, as it has done EVERY day apart from one day, this beautiful, lovely summer (NOT) :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

I have been watching the golf today too. Quite exciting. Sergio Garcia threw it away twice, after looking all over the winner, especially after Padraig Harrington went into the water twice at the same hole. Hope you enjoyed it too Harry :D
