Sue Parker RIP
I am devastated to have to report that one of my favourite people, Sue Parker, passed away yesterday. She has been battling cancer for quite a while now but it unexpectedly took a turn for the worse, hence the reason she pulled out of coming to 'Fans Reunited'. The hospital started a brutal course of chemotherapy who proved too much and on Monday Sue was taken to Gemma Hospice in Leeds and died peacefully in the early hours of the morning yesterday.
I know I shall miss her greatly, she always had this wonderful 'ra ra' attitude, always a smile of her face, and thought of others before herself. She has been part of our family for the last 50 years and her absence will leave a big hole. My only comfort is knowing that she is probably front seat at whatever show dad is doing tonight.
My love goes to Mike and her family.
RIP

My thoughts are with Mike and his family. Sue was a fabulous person and someone I loved to chat to at all of the 'Monro' occasions she attended in the last 6 years.
She had so many stories about Matt and her travels following him around the country. We must also be grateful that some of Matt's earliest TV performances survive in audio due to her recording with a microphone in front of the television from as early as 1960! - The Lunch box material on the Special Reserve CD was only there because Sue had kept her reel tapes safe for almost 50 years.
In tribute to Sue you might wish to read her story here:-

I am so very sorry to read this very sad news. I met Sue on a couple of occasions and she was a really lovely lady. I know she was a huge fan of Matt's right from the very beginning, one of his most loyal fans.
My thoughts are with Mike and the family.

Peter and I are both so sorry to hear the sad news. We met Sue and Mike on several occasions and Sue was always smiling and cheerful, even when she became ill. She will be really missed by many of us here, and our thoughts are with Mike, their friends and family at this sad time.

We are both so very sorry to hear this sad news of Sue. She was not only an extremely attractive lady with a beautiful smile, always so chatty and friendly, but surely the most dedicated of all Matt's fans.
We offer our sympathy and sincere scondolences to Sues husband Mike.
R.I.P. Sue.

I don't know of this lady but sorry to hear about your friend Michele.
Re: Sue Parker RIP
Condolences and prayers to your friend's family, Michele. I'm sorry for your loss. Cancer is a nasty disease. I almost lost my Dad to it back in 2000. Thankfully he's in remission.

Oh this is such sad news-I knew it would take a lot for Sue to miss the Fans Renion, but never dreamed it would be such bad news.
I know many of us know just how devoted Sue was to Matt and his music, over such a long time, and I remember her talking to us about some of her early escapades.
My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

What a tragedy. We are so sorry to hear the very sad news.
Sue introduced herself to us at the original book launch and after reading her stories in the hardback we were looking forward to having a good chat with her this year.

This is such sad news. We missed Sue and Mike at the Fans Reunited. I have been thinking of her after Michele told us that she was unable to attend. I enjoyed talking to her at both of the previous gatherings. Her eyes would sparkle when she talked about Matt Monro's music and going to so many of his performances. I had the honor of sitting right behind her at Matt Jnr's concert after the first Fans Reunited. I could tell how much she loved all the Monro family and she was so proud of Michele, Mickie, Matt, and Max for carrying on the legacy of Matt Monro.
My thoughts are with Mike, Michele, and all of her close friends and family.

What sad news. I had seen a lovely photograph of her and Mike at Michele's house sale, and dearly would have liked to have met her, but she was too sick to attend the book launch! My family send our condolences to Mike and everybody who knew his lovely lady at this sad time!
