Forum upgrade

A few problems had cropped up on the site since we had a software upgrade a month or two back.
To this end we have had to change the style of the board a little, but things like Polls, for instance, now work again!
Hope than change isn't too jarring - I kept it as close to the old version as software would allow, but everything should still work the same - just look a little different!

Hi Richard, I could not get into the new posts the old way---plus this screen is bright green.
I guess it will settle down in time.

The links to 'View new Posts' etc are still there at the top of the board on the index page.
I've changed the background of the text box to black now.
Any other problems let me know!

We thought at first we had entered the wrong website but now we're here we are getting to grips with the new look.
Like anything new it's just getting used to a different way of finding your way around. We are happy that the forum is still with us

I'm sure we'll soon get used to it Richard, 'a change is as good as a rest!'

Like Maureen and Harry I'm grateful we still have the forum.

At the moment I don't feel it's as easy to get around but no doubt I will get used to it in time.

It should be no different really.
The look has changed and that is all. All the same functions are there and working.
The forums runs on a system called 'Phpbb' and recently this was upgraded to the latest version.
Unfortunately the style of forum we had was no longer supported by the software so we had no choice but to change the style, and this is as close as I could get to the old version.
Sorry if your not finding it as easy Karl, but everything should be more or less in the same place, just look a bit different!
If there is something you can't find. Just shout and I'll try and help.
Richard

I'm finding the symbols on the left of the screen difficult to decipher, the ones that show posts that we haven't read etc. don't seem as clear as they used to be Richard. I saw the symbols listed at the bottom of the page but there as others, cross etc. If you could list these it would be helpful. Many thanks!

I think I am getting there now---although my "reply" screen, is still a very bright green, with white type, so it is reasonably easy to read. I do not want to mess about with it, in case it gets worse, and I may not be able to see as well as before.

That's funny Marian. My reply screen is black.

I cannot find a way to change it, so I guess I am stuck with it--all the headers on that page are green too---very bright green too !!

It is what is is, I have to get use to looking at stuff at the left now instead of the middle. However as long as we can still converse it's fine with me.

Don't know why your reply box is still green. Try clearing your internet cache.
The green is the same as the old forum.
I will have a look at making the 'unread' message symbols clearer.
The + symbol means that there are sub forums within those topics.
I think the rest are self explanatory, but do ask if there is anything specific.

Thank you Richard. I think I'm getting used to the symbols as the unread posts seem brighter now. At first they all looked the same.
