Join me on Sunday afternoon at 4pm UK time on Bay FM http://www.bayfm.co.uk for our regular 3-hour stroll down 'Memory Lane.' Just go to the page and click ‘Listen Now’ BUT don’t forget that if you’re within reach of the transmitter here in East Devon, you can now tune into 106.4 FM to hear the programme. If the page is down, go to http://www.shoutcast.com/Internet-Radio/bayfm%20exmouth

This week it will be a ‘Pot Pourri’ of music from a spread of 70 years (!), with birthday tributes to Maurice Chevalier, Julie Covington, Eddy Howard, dick Haymes and Ambrose, amongst several others, plus requests and dedications from you, the listeners, including a little “modern nostalgia,” whilst the last part of the programme will be music from film, stage, radio and TV (including Matt :D )
Hopefully I'll be able to bring back some memories for you and I'll be giving out gold stars if you remember some of these singers before I tell you who they are. In addition I'll also introduce you to some singers whom you've either forgotten or maybe missed altogether first time around.
Three hours of our sort of music, around 50 songs, without too much chat.
Don't forget that the 'Listen Again' facility is now up and running if you can't hear the programme 'Live' - or even want to hear it again!
Take care,
Nick.

Pleased you were listening in Robert. We enjoy Nick's programme because we never know what he's going to play next. His selection of music varies from every decade and we enjoy trying to guess the singers, ..and we don't always get it right :) Nick has a great rapport with the listeners and appreciates messages during the programme. He is a compassionate person and that comes through during the programme. He played one of yours and our favourites today ..Margaret Whiting, and of course never forgetting Matt. Today it was "When I Fall In Love." :)

Today was the first time I gave Nicks show a listen L&H (I listened for about an hour)............the format reminded me of another programme I used to listen to, but I cannot remember the name

Robert, we generally send a message to Nick and he replies to everyone who does that. He played a lovely selection again today.
Without a shadow of a doubt Matt was master of his craft and is the ultimate reason for us being on the forum. We also each and individually like other singers that we find special. Having said that, maybe because of the singers who made it to the top, we have probably overlooked and passed by other good singers that didn't get the same breaks, and this is what we have discovered on Nicks programme.
Some of the names were unknown to us and we've been surprised what good singers there were out there.

Yes L&H, I couldn't get any of the Gold Stars in the first hour ................I had heard of Joni James before, but not many of the others  ..........................I have remembered that this programme reminds me of a String of Pearls presented by Dewi Griffiths, who always gave us a summary of the artists too :)

Listening to a little bit of Nicks show at the moment, but Nick is not there this week.............the female presenter just pronounced Ira Gershwins name in-correctly and Ritchie Valens name too (she must be too young to remember them the first time around)  .....................................just heard your names mentioned again L&H :) .......................she just told us that Bobby Vee was diagnosed with Alzheimerms disease in 2011 :( :( ......................now she has announced that Johnny Mathis has never has any children :!:

Robert, yes one or two minor hiccups, but we can tell that the lady who is presenting the programme today is really nervous stepping into Nick's shoes for the first time, and facing Three hours is a long stint but the music is still good. :) and she played Matt's " Portrait Of My Love " for us too. :)

Thats great L&H that she played "Portrait" for you :) ..................I gave up after she mentioned about Johnny Mathis not having any children  ...............I could tell she was nervous, as she she made mistakes all the time when reading her notes
