For One Night Only

Post by Rmoore » Wed Aug 02, 2017 11:34 am

Just in case you missed it hidden in the News section
On November 16th at Dudley Concert Hall, Michele and Matt Monro Jnr take the stage together for the first time.

"I wrote the Matt Monro Story ‘One Voice’ and originally Matt and I were going to tour it together but with my work on the ship it wasn’t possible so I put in a narrator. This will be the first time we have worked together so it will be very memorable." - Michele Monro

Tickets aren't available yet, but I'll let you all know when they are.

Richard

I'm surprised that nobody has commented on this. A few more details are below. Matt & Michele would love to see you there and of course will be out front after the show to say hello. - I'm going to (but don't let that put you off!) Whilst we have no official "get together" you might think about meeting up yourselves. Michele has never narrated the show before and perhaps won't ever again so get your tickets whilst you can!

A reminder that on 16th November at Dudley Town Hall is a special one off charity performance of "The Singer's Singer - The Matt Monro Story". This is particularly special as it will feature for the first (and possibly last) time both Matt Monro Jnr AND Michele Monro. Whilst Michele wrote the show she has never acted as narrator until now and due to other commitments is unlikely to do so again. The show features rare audio & video clips, with Michele telling her father's story and Matt Jnr singing his father's songs.

This is the original and best Matt Monro Story told by those who knew him best.

I wish we lived nearer Richard. We have seen the show a few times over the years but think that the one we saw at the Pomegranate Theatre at Chesterfield in April was the best yet.
With Matt's help we even managed to beg one of the posters advertising the show from the reluctant staff.
How great to see Matt AND Michele in Dudley.Wish we could be there :(

Just read about your lovely evening at the concert. We agree that they are all so easy to talk to and we appreciate them for keeping Matt's memory alive and long may it continue.
