I'll be FRANK with you, It's not a song Matt is normally associated with.
Clip not seen for over 60 years.

Re: September News
Mmm a Sinatra song then??
Re: September News
Except I've led you down the wrong road. That's a different week! Doh.
As the clip has now gone to premiere, i'll tell you. It's a song called Good News, and it's from the Roy Castle Show in 1962. It features not just Matt but Roy, Valerie Masters, Bernard Cribbins and Tommy Reilly. It was found just a matter of weeks ago, mislabelled at ITV. Unfortunately, only the last 20 minutes of the show survive, the first 30 minutes - including most of Matt's appearance - are still lost. Like the teased Sinatra song, this hasn't been seen since first broadcast

Re: September News
Shame about the opening 30 minutes but 20 minutes is better than nothing ...... I didn’t know Roy Castle was was so famous back in 1962

Re: September News
20 minutes are better than nothing, apart from the fact that Matt appears in only two of those minutes!
Roy Castle became famous at the end of the 50's after a performance at a royal variety show.
I've just remastered all of his 50's and early 60's recordings for re-release next year.

Re: September News
Ok two minutes are better than nothing ........Roy Castle must have been older than I thought he was........(he did appear on the Matt show “Go with Matt Monro” along with Marion Montgomery” in 1967

Re: September News
Thank you Richard for the update and hope Michele will soon have her computer up and running.
We are looking forward to the Friday Premiere and such a shame that part of it is missing but will still be nice to see and hear something new of Matt on this brilliant YouTube channel.
Sorry Robert that it has taken so long to post

Re: September News
Roy Castle would have been 90 years old on 31st August. He was only a couple of years younger than Matt. And another one lost far too young.
I saw him in Pickwick with Harry Secombe when he was in - regrettably temporary - remission from lung cancer. He brought the house down just standing on stage by that point. Immensely talented man

Having seen Roy recently on the Matt tv show with Marian Montgomery made me realise what a great talent he was and soRmoore wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 6:58 pmRoy Castle would have been 90 years old on 31st August. He was only a couple of years younger than Matt. And another one lost far too young.
