Harry and Lena

I am sure you will all be sorry to hear that Harry and Lena have had a very traumatic day today. Apparently, the flat below them caught fire, and Lena could see flames out of the window--no joke when you are 9 floors up !!! She grabbed her phone and coat, ran out, along with everyone else, but when outside she had a nasty fall--she has a black eye, and lots of knocks and bruises--apart from also being shocked from the fall, not to mention thinking that her home and everything inside was going up in flames. Luckily at the end of the day, no serious casualties apart from some with smoke inhalation.

They were due to meet up with Marian and Peter to see Matt at the Beck, next Wednseday, but this is very much in doubt now, as apart from feeling bad----their front door was smashed down by firemen, and at present is not secure.

I know you would all like to join me in sending them our best wishes, at this upsetting time for them.

Thanks for those additional details, Marian. It sounds really terrifying. I hope Lena has a quick recovery and that Harry and Lena can find a way to see Matt Jnr at the Beck. If I were visiting London next week, I would offer to watch their apartment, so they can have a stress-free evening enjoying good music. I hope you're both feeling better soon.

Lena phoned and told me all about their most terrible day. She was still shaky with shock and sore from her fall, but is hoping she will feel better in a few days.
We haven't given up hope of them coming to the show just yet. It won't be the same without them.
We send our love and hope all will soon be well.
Marian and Peter.

Dear Lena and Harry

Sorry to hear of your traumatic experience this week, why do these things happen to the nice genuine people, it must have been terrifying.
Keep smiling and hope you still go to the Beck to see Matt. I can assure you everything will come right in time. Best wishes

Hope this posted twice, we have computer problems

I have spoken to Lena this morning and she is still very sore. As always seems to happen, several more areas of bruising have appeared overnight and one arm has swelled up like a balloon so that she can hardly bend it.
Her eye also is more bruised and swollen. She hopes to see a doctor on Monday.
I know all your good wishes mean a lot to her.
Marian.

Yes, we were thinking of them both all night. I also just spoke to Lena, like you said Marian she is very bruised and sore, but in good spirits.

Dear Lena and Harry
I too was distressed to hear you had been in the wars;
ambushed by that cruel enemy - sudden misfortune.
However I was also relieved to learn that you were keeping
your spirits up, like those other stalwarts we honour this
weekend.
I wish you both a swift return to fighting fitness and the
restoration of that indomitable sense of humour.

To our very special friends here on the forum. Marian, John, Marian, Paul, Anne and David, Gray and Amanda Len and Freda, and Keith,.. Harry and I would both like to say to each and every one of you how touched and overwhelmed we have been by your wonderfully kind and sincere messages. They have meant so much, and have perhaps resulted in more tears than the soreness that i'm experiencing right now.
Although yesterday was a dreadfully upsetting day the wounds will heal and now we are just thankful when we think of what could have been so much worse.
Thank you very much Marian, John and Marian and Michele for your phone calls, for all your caring and concern, we have really appreciated it and Ill take Micheles advice and treat each day as individually and see how I'm feeling on Wednesday for Matt's concert at the Beck.
I could turn up in disguise as the cabaret act, Long John Silver, with one arm in a sling, one leg strapped up, a patch over my eye, and a parrot on my shoulder. but thank you all again so much.
Lena & Harry.
