URGENT MESSAGE

This is an urgent message from Michele to say she is unable to access the internet due to a power cut, and she is sorry but she is unable to communicate with anyone by email at the moment.
The power has already been off for over four hours so hopefully it will not be for too much longer.

Funnily enough, we have had 2 very short power cuts today, one lasting about 1 second, the other 5 minutes.

We always remember the Scout motto Robert... Be Prepared.
We keep candles and nightlights, (left over since the blackout ) but the florescent lights worked by battery are the best.

I was just reading about all your powercuts.................I had the "mother" of all powercuts last Sat evening - plunged into darkness at 9.30pm  Called the emergency line and the guy came out and found that the main electric cable running into my house had SNAPPED :? :? would you believe it!!! I had my wonderful battery operated church style candles dotted round the house - so the house looked all romantic. Pity I was on my own    But I'm sure you can all guess who I was listening to on my portable CD player?????

Anyway it was decided that the guys would come back in the morning when it was daylight to fix it! So four of them turned up and decided it required drilling a big hole in the road outside my house!! OH MY! Just what all my neighbours wanted at 9am on a Sunday Morning   Anyway the problem finally got fixed about lunchtime........and the hole they made in the road??? Yup you've guessed it it wasn't part of their job to fill it back in again was it??? And yet more guys would be sent out to do that bit

All fixed now though.........

Summer's on it's way Robert and they want excuses for digging up the roads.
We were wakened with a reminder last Sunday morning.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY

So there was young Anna alone
on a Saturday night,
playing Matt Monro music
by romantic candlelight,
after her electricity failed
without any warning,
yet slow Mr Fix-it said,
'We will be back in the morning.'

Keith
