The music world has lost one of its legends

Post by Administrator » Thu Feb 16, 2006 8:44 pm

Sid Feller passes into the next "set" early this morning. His career as a musical composer, musical director, arranger and producer spanned over 60 years. He will be remembered most for his work with the late great Ray Charles from his signing with ABC in 1959 as his arranger, producer and conductor. Their work and friendship went on to last more than 30 years as did the friendship and working relationship with Matt Monro.

He was the musical arranger for the Flip Wilson show, and he was both president and treasurer of NARAS, who produces the Grammy's.

He was admired by his musical peers for his perfection to his music and his humbleness to his talent. He was loved by all that knew him because of his deep sense of warmth, devotion, humour and honesty.

The heavens will sing sweeter now that he is among their light.
