Hi Everyone,

I was listening to Sarah Kennedy on Radio 2 this morning.
She played "born free" by Matt as her showtime song today.
I do hope that everyone heard this. As usual Sarah made a very nice comment about Matt's music. :D :)

Best Wishes

Hilary :)

Thanks for pointing this out. I just used the "listen again" feature to listen to Sarah Kennedy's Thursday show. I had to sit through some terrible songs (by the likes of Looking Glass, Dr. Hook, Sting and Sheryl Crow) to get to "Born Free", but it was worth it.

Hi Everyone,

Sarah Kennedy played Matt again this morning.
Once again Matt was part of the "Showtime" spot.
We heard "On days like these" from the Italian Job.

It was nice to hear this lovely song and even better when Sarah made her usual nice comments about Matt's music.
Other than Doris Day, I think that Matt has been featured quite a bit on the show and why not I say! :D :D :D

I just used the 'listen again' feature to Sarah Kennedy's programme this morning. As always, it's nice to hear such a lovely Matt Monro song on the radio.

I happened to check the Radio 2 message board and found these nice comments about Matt Monro being played on Sarah Kennedy's programme this morning. I've copied them below.

Yes frolix, I thought it was good too but then I always enjoy Sarah's relaxed presentation and her gentle irony. It must be that posh upbringing that some message boarders say she had and then use that as an excuse to be negative and spiteful. Hello Scott, Bully and Ceannair.

In addition, I thought the show tune was excellent. I can't think of anything better than waking up to Matt Monro.

Keep smiling

This is a reply to this message

Yes, me too. I think old Matt Monro (aka "Fred Flange" to John Lennon) had a wonderful voice. Great production by George Martin at Abbey Road, too. I have to say that some of the Show Tune selections are a bit cringeworthy in my opinion but this was lovely.

Hi Hilary, Paul and everyone. we've also listened to Sarah Kennedy's programme and her nice comments about the song. Andy who requested the song On Days Like These said, this song just stops him in his tracks,
We're all singing along she said and What A Star.!!!!

I thought often about Andy's comment yesterday. The song does the same to me. I listened to On Days Like These several times yesterday. I love to play it while driving through a lovely neighbourhood with trees, homes, cafes, etc.
