New TV show starting this coming Saturday Night

Hi Everyone,

There is a new TV show on BBC 2 TV which starts this coming Saturday Night. It is called "The History of Light Entertainment."
The show runs for about six - eight weeks and charts the success of UK comedy shows through the years.
No doubt we shall see lots of good comedy show highlights from years gone by which will be nice.

I think that the purpose of the series is to show everyone how light entertainment has changed over the years (maybe not for the best!)

There will be contributions during the series from Sir Cliff Richard, (is he a comedian then?!) David Essex, Tony Christie, Peter Kay and many others too.

I think that this one is worth a look - It will be nice to see something good on the TV at long last.

Thanks for that info Hilary. We have now taken a look and yes, it will be a nice change to see a decent programme
This week is about all the famous double acts from past and present.
So that will make interesting viewing

Hi Hilary and all, Good old BBC, Isn't that typical.?? Saturday evening " Dancing In The Street" begins at 6.25 pm on BBC1 and stops for The Lottery and
Casualty.... Yes, Casualty, what 's more thrilling on a Saturday evening, and then back it came to continue at 9.05 and what time did "The Story Of Light Entertainment begin on BBC 2 OK, so it's tape recorder time, But........

Hi Lena, Harry and Robert,

I suppose in days gone by, (sounds really cute doesn't it?) before videos were around, if there were 2 shows on and you wanted to watch both of them, then I guess you would have to take a vote and decide which TV station to watch.

I can't imagine that the bosses @ BBC 1 and BBC 2 did this on purpose did they?

Hi Hilary, No they probably didn't do it on purpoise, they just like to keep us guessing where they keep their brains. Surely from the recent Strictly Come Dancing series that boosted the Saturday evening viewing ratings sky high, it should give them some idea that this is what the majority of viewers want, but they can't please every one.
The same goes for Radio programmes, particularly Sundays as we've already talked about.
