We requested and received the beautifully crafted lyric book today from Michele. This is the lyric book that Michele has described in the current web newsletter that comes with the title "The Words Behind The Melody". We are thrilled to have this item to add to our memorabillia collection. The lyrics to all the songs made particularly famous and sung by Matt are specially presented, and there are some lovely pictures too, some that we hadn't seen before.
Thanks for this Michele !! It's really great

Hi Harry, Lena, Robert and all, yes the "Words Behind the Melody" songbook is indeed something a little bit special. the photo`s are wonderful and as you say new ones that we have not seen before, it says Volume 1 so does that mean there could be more to follow? lets hope so, take care all, Paul and Sue.

Hi Paul and Sue, great to see your posting and glad you thought the same as we did. It is a nice book isn't it, and looks for certain that there will be a follow up to this volume 1.

Hi Harry and Lena, lets hope so, i have just listened to Heart Of The Man and it is wonderful, the title track, version 2 is unbelievable, i just love it, Pennies From Heaven would be just as good but for the accompanist? now on to the Rare Monro, take care, all the best Paul and Sue.

Hi Lena and Harry---now you have the lyric book, does this mean that we are all going to sing-along at Matt Jrs concert
{Michele--if you are reading this---it is just a joke---honest }

Ah - something to go on my Christmas list I think! Does it give the story behind each recording as well? e.g. where, when ,producer, band details etc? It'd be worth it just for the photos to be honest. Especially if there are more of Matt posing in front of the BOAC and BEA aircraft of the era - there does seem to be a lot of px of him getting on and off planes! Back when flying was glamorous!
Hope you like Rare Monro, Paul and Sue - its got some fantastic tracks on, and some real oddities! But all done superbly

Marian, who knows we might have a good choir there. Anyway, thank god it won't be like those Musical singalongs when the chorus are all kitted out in costumes, cos we're definitely not gonna sit there dressed like Russians.

I think a sing-along on Born Free would be quite nice (with costumes knitted by Marian, of course

). I probably shouldn't tell this, but my first accompanying job was for a school skit on the Boston Tea Party/American Revolution. I formed a little choir and we sang Born Free at the end of our skit.

A nice story of you forming a little choir for the school skit Paul, knitted costumes eh.
Gave us a little smile and a reminder of when swimming costumes were knitted for us as kids with such pride by our mum's, and the feeling of dismay when stepping out of the water
