Congratulations Michele! Let me be one of the first to acknowledge on this forum the hard work and devotion which has led to this wonderful outcome. An official Web site has been a dream for so many of us for so many years...you have made it happen, and you have ensured a proper legacy for the man we all love.

Michele, Great Job! I rate your dad along with other male vocalists of the 20th century: Perry Como, Vic Damone, Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, John Gary, Steve Lawrence, Gordon MacRae and Tony Bennett.
Your dad had a great stage presence and was quite funny at times. I was able to view a time when he appeared with David Frost and sang "Hava Naguila" - what a fun time he had with the audience! Looking forward to other interesting items to appear in the web site.

The Late Nick Perito on Matt Monro

Post by va3 » Tue Aug 09, 2005 4:37 pm

A magnificent site and a job very well done, Michele. It is marvellous to say our very best singer back in public prominence. In view of the very exciting projects lined up, I am certain that is likely to continue for a long time.

Perry Como's arranger and MD, Nick perito, passed away last week. I had the good fortune to speak to Nick on several occasions. Both he and Perry were big Monro fans. Interestingly Perito chose one of my favourite Matt songs as his own favourite recording: If There Ever Is A Next Time.

Great work again. And thanks.

-Vance
