Dartford

I am sorry this is late coming in but the last couple of days have been a bit manic. The hotel did not have a computer so I couldn't log on. Although it was not a long journey to Dartford from "Monro Towers' the hours are flying by.
People were streaming into the theatre and I didn't think they would all fit in but when the curtain finally went up the theatre was filled to capacity and the atmosphere was buzzing. With nearly 800 people there Zac had no trouble in feeling their appreciation.
I met Geraldine Vine who Michele has chosen to run the Official Fan Club and she was fabulous. She was talking to everyone, handing out forms, explaining the new club and is an amazing personality, her enthusiasm was infectious. But when the curtain went up for Matt, all I saw was steam coming off her shoes as she rushed to get her seat. She is a true fan.
I was also introduced to Colin McGinn who as well as being one of Matt's close friends is the official tour photographer. The pictures that he took last year are amazing and a lot are used in the special book that we are selling on the tour. Although at first glance it appears expensive at £40.00, when you realise what went into it and the costs. it really is a quality item bound in black leather, his pictures ceratinly show the true Monro magic- I just hope Michele does another one on her dad - that would be the icing on the cake for me.
Colin was popping up when you least expected him, he was in the dressing room, the wings, the foyer, I'm sure he got some fabulous shots. He is coming to Fans Reunited and is taking pictures of the event. Michele and Colin have set up that he will take pictures of everyone that requests it and they will be put up on the website. If anyone wants one they will be asked for a donation toward the cancer fund. I think the idea is awesome and unbeliveable that she is relying on trust that people will contribute even though they could download the pictures for free, she feels total loyalty to the fans and is untiring in her efforts to keep the legacy of her father burning brightly - good for her. The Fan Club is unique and I wouldn't have believed in a zillion years that when I joined last year I would be living the tour now - it really is dream come true for me - I'm loving every minute.
I want to thank everyone is is stopping to say hello to me, tonight I met Janet & Jeff Hammond, what lovely people - it's great meeting everyone for real after seeing them on the website for so long. I am so looking forward to the fan club meet - I think it will be an amazing day.
Needless to say Matt stormed the show with another standing ovation, the room was electric. Even though he has been under the weather, he is singing better than ever. He was absolutely mobbed after the show and it saw another couple of hours until we were packed up and on our way to Essex. More on Brentwood in the next posting.
Bye for now - Paul
