En Route

Leaving for Kettering in a minute, although this is officially a day off, there is no peace for the wicked. Matt is leaving for the Philippines the day after this tour ends and although originally booked for two dates it keeps getting extended. Now he is doing six shows so travel arrangements, flights, hotels, cars have to all be altered around.
There are meetings to discuss what will travel with the crew and as the music has to be flown there in advance for the local musicicans to study before the performances, it has to sent by special courier. Matt told me that originally the promoters had him flying into Manilla and going straight to rehearsals - and I thought that showbusiness was so glamorous!! The promoters also want Matt to do several press conferences and signings and are already talking about coming back next year.
The show has to be altered slightly to take into consideration that many people might not speak English and the merchandise, well things like brochures and CD's, have to be pressed out there because it would be very expensive to fly it all out as well as the problems with customs, import duty, all very technical stuff.
I have to get the banking and my laundry done and I am on the lookout for a black backdrop for the table displays, the car needs filling up with juice, Matt's mobile has expired and that is something we have to sort out urgently as no-one can get hold of him and I need mobile credit top up.
It is nearly 1.00pm and half of the day has gone already so I'd better get my act together or I won't be ready on time.
