We were at the Riverfront Theatre last night and it is amazing. They spent 14 million on the contruction and decor and it shows. The whole theatre and foyer are filled with various artworks, sculptures, statues and the like, it is very imposing and I thought had set the tome for the evening, but I was wrong.
Before the show even started the police had to be called as a number of youths were running amok in the theatre, the police came pretty quickly and thankfully resumed play. They did pull me aside and told me to be extra vigilant in watching the stock. No sooner had they left when another group of kids invaded the area and again the police were called. I was kinda nervous that this was going to contine for the rest of the night buy I'm pleased to report that was the last incident of the evening, but it did keep me on my toes.
Zak was great, and although I have said this before he seems to be getting better as we go along. He is a great talent and as funny off the stage as he is on. He has brightened many a dismal evening and I would like to go on record and personally thank him for all the help he has given me throughout the tour. I have to say I couldn't have managed without him, he is always there and the first to offer a hand with the stock and unloading the car. He is a great guy. In fact he gave me a right laugh last night, a woman had come up to him in the foyer after the show and said " you made me cry" to which Zak replied " Well I will improve with age". The ad libs are definately the funniest lines.
Matt is nearly 100% now, I have to say this illness has vertainly lingered and after getting it myself, I can't seem to shake it. Matt hasn't done one bad show in all the weeks and even if I have not personally crept into the theatre to watch it myself, it is eveident in the comments from the fans as they pile out of the theatre.
Tonight we are in Reading and I am going to pick up my lovely wife Sue from the station at 2.00pm. I have not seen her since the tour kicked off so it will be nice to have a cuddle. She is coming to see the show tonight and then I am driving Matt back to "Monro Towers" after the show and Sue and I are staying at a local hotel, that way we can both arrive at the Fan Club Meet together. I am really looking forward to it and can't wait to say hello to so many familiar faces.
Bye for now
