special days in October

Seeing that we are such a close knit family, I thought it would be nice if you let us know the dates in the year that are special to you.

Eman that's really good that your parents are taking advantage of and keeping up with these gadgets and discovering various things for their enjoyment. :)

Hi Marian--hope you have a lovely day-sorry, I seem to have forgotten to post your card--everything is upside down here-my sister is staying for 2 weeks, with her dog, so chaos at times !!

Thank you so much to Lena and Harry, Robert, Eman, Sandra and John, Karl, John, and Marian, for your lovely wishes on my birthday. I'm having a restful time with lots of cards and pressies, and we are shortly going out for a meal to round off the day. :D

My neighbour was 65 last week and it was like a mini-Christmas with the amount of gifts. Two cakes one chocolate and one covered in fruit, it was delicious!!!

Hope you enjoy your meal Marian.

My special friend Julie, has just had her 53rd birthday.

She gave up working when she was 30 to be official carer to her younger brother, who was injured in a car accident, and as a result developed Schizophrenia---at the same time she nursed her elderly father, and later her mum though cancer--both lost their fights.

Julie is still caring for her brother, but about 10 years ago developed a very painful, quite rare, incurable disease. She has been told she will not live beyond 55 years old.

She badly needs a double hip replacement and a knee replacement as she is finding it hard to get around, but they cannot do it, as she is just not well enough.

My thoughts are constantly with Julie. It really is a heartbreaking situation for her family and friends, and mostly for Julie herself.

How sad Julie cared fo all those family members and is so ill herself and at such a young age.

Let's hope she defies the odds and makes a recovery.
