Special Days in April

Seeing that we are such a close knit family, I thought it would be nice if you let us know the dates in the year that are special to you.

Today is my granny's annniversary, she passed away in 1966 on an Easter Sunday morning - I still think of her every day as she was a lovely kind and gentle lady.

The previous night I passed her door quite late as I was on a bus going home having baby-sat for a colleague , the lights were on but I did not want to scare her by ringing her bell at that time of night, I will always regret not doing that.

Thinking of you on your Grannies Anniversary today Karl. Can understand what you are saying, for most of us when someone close to us passes away we can all think of something more that we may have been able to do, but we are human and won't ever get everything perfect.

I spoke to my aunt today and it appears I put the wrong date down in my book as my granny's anniversary is the 10th.

Tomorrow is 9 years since I lost George. The last few weeks have been so painful for me as I went over all the things that I should have, could have done. The things i did not do, and the things that I should not have done.

However, i have had a lovely 24 hours with my friends, feeling a little brighter, and I know that above all George would want me to be happy. So i will do the best I can, but not always easy.

I knew that Marian as I re-read last years post. We all have regrets, mine was going out to bring the car level to the house as mum came down the stair, only to find she'd taken a stroke almost at the bottom of the stair and fell the last five steps If only I'd been with her I thought but the doctor told me not to think like that, in a way I am glad it did not happen in the car as in traffic I may not have been able to stop.

I still think it was such a sad thing to happen to her as she never did anyone a bad turn, just like my granny.

It's a true saying life's a bitch!

Anyway Marian remember the good times and I'm sure like all my loved one's he is looking out for you.

April 13th was my mother's birthday. She died suddenly of a heart attack at 66, two weeks before my youngest son was born. Missing her and loving her always.
