SPECIAL DAYS IN NOVEMBER

Seeing that we are such a close knit family, I thought it would be nice if you let us know the dates in the year that are special to you.

Hey Marian, I've been diagnosed with High Blood Pressure since I was 17. The thing is I was the first one in my family with it. Yep, besides the meds, I have the diuretic too. I've been on so many BP meds because one minute one would work and then the next I'd have some sort of reaction and they would have to change the meds altogether and play with the dosages. Yuck!! So far so good, they've found a happy medium for me and I have changed meds or dosages for years and have been stable.

Marian and Eman, i'm also on BP tablets and diuretics that cause potassium lowering, that need tablets to eradicate the potassium lowering that will work with the Thyroxine  What great lyrics for a song these words would make. reminds me of the old Gracie Fields song ....
I'm the Girl that makes the thing, that drills the hole that holds the spring, that drives the rod that turns the nob, that works the thingummy bob.

I have never even heard of dieretics! I pride myself that I've got to this age and I'm on nothing but fresh air, no pills or medication of any kind and I hope I stay that way for as long as I can.

I'm on flecanide and bisoprol for heart arrythmia, warfarin because I had a stroke, amilodopine for blood pressure, and the diuretic and a statin that I do not take as it was doing more harm than good.

Marian wasn't there a scare with Warfarin years ago? I remember my mum telling me about it as I think she was on them at the time.

I know some people can't take it Karl, but it seems okay for me so far. :)

I guess I am lucky--I was on strong painkillers till just recently but had to stop as they were making me ill, so the only tablets I take are from the Health Shop--Glucasomine for my joints, omega 3.6.9, and multi vitamins. If my kneee gets too painful now, I just use paracetomol.

Harry is on Thyroxine, Amlodopine, Cimetidine and aspirin, so it looks as if we are all pretty much members of the same club, except Karl.
Wolferine seems to be ok for many, but there is controversy now as to whether statins are as helpful or as safe as thought to be
That's good that you are not on any medication Karl, but we are just fortunate that we don't have to pay for our prescriptions. Although most of us have paid for this exemption over many years.

It was Nine years ago today that my Mother passed away. About the worse day that I can remember. Mothers are irreplaceable, mine certainly was. :(

I can remember you saying something similar last year and I agree with you - we never forget them L&H.

Thank you Karl. No we don't forget them, and although life goes on, no day is ever quite the same, specially Christmas Day.

Thank you for your kind words too Marian. I do still miss her so much, but have to be grateful in so many ways, and that she had a good long life.

In our church every November they have a book of rememberance for the month of The Holy Souls and we add the names of our departed family and friends.

This year my list was longer as I added Jim and Irene. Irene's funeral was around the same time as Jim's but in Iowa. Irene was the mother of my priest friend there. and I stayed with his parents the first time I visited - a lovely couple, so warm and full of fun.

Tony conducted the mass for his mum which would not have been easy, he took a whole day to gather his thoughts but she was also given a wonderful send-off. Irene's husand Phil passed away awhile back but I still remember the laughs we all shared, it was a very happy time.
