Sunday 10 January 2010 - BBC Radio Essex - Eric Hall
This coming Sunday - 10th January I am delighted to be appearing on BBC Radio Essex with Eric Hall on his show called 'Making Memories'. Both Matt Jnr and myself will be on the show from around 4.30pm. What is nice is that Eric is opening the telephone lines so people can ring in and ask questions. It would be really nice to hear from some of you. If you want to join in, Eric has advised phoning 01245 495050 at about 4.15pm as it gets very busy.
Hope to see you there.

Re: BBC Radio Essex
Coincidence time,Michele. I received an end-of-year-review em from Marc Bolan's fan club (loooong-time fan since 1971), and
Eric was mentioned in despatches. He was always a good friend to Marc.
Might yap soon...

Re: BBC Radio Essex
We always used the 'listen again' facility to hear Eric Halls 'Making Memories'
programme after reading Lena and Harrys posts on the music he was playing.
A few months ago for some reason that service was withdrawn.
So this Sunday we must 'hotfoot' back from lunch, whizz my Mum back home in her wheelchair and be ready to 'listen live' on our computer to Michele and Matt. Can't wait!

Re: BBC Radio Essex
I think Eric was on the lemonade last Sunday, he was getting his Bubelahs in a twist, but at the age of 89 ( he's been this age for the past Five years ) we can forgive him. He does play some nice music, and of course a lot of Matt.
Re: BBC Radio Essex
Is he really 89, Lena and Harry? I would never have thought it listening to him.
Re: BBC Radio Essex
I have tried to find out Eric's age on the internet, but to no avail I still don't believe he is that age.......sorrry L&H, but I think Eric is a person who likes a joke

Re: BBC Radio Essex
Eric was thanking people for the Birthday cards a few weeks ago and i'm sure he had convinced them that he was 89.
You are correct Robert, there is nowhere to show his birth date on the net, but he worked at Mill's music alongside Elton John in Tin Pan Alley in the Fifties and as far as i know at the same time as Mickie.
Also i believe he was one of the kids in Lionel Bart's first production of OLIVER.
He's more like 79.

Re: BBC Radio Essex
Are you quite sure he wasn't Fagin, Lena and Harry? That would've been the ideal Apprenticeship for his subsequent Footballers Agent machinations.

Re: BBC Radio Essex
See what you mean Don, Fagin eh .. that might have created a punch up between him and Ron Moody unless the price was right.
It was obviously another porky about playing one of the kids in this production, he would have been about 30.

Re: BBC Radio Essex
Eric may have meant he was in the film of "Oliver Twist" from 1948--the one with Anthony Newley as "The Artful Dodger".
Anthony was born in 1931, so he would have been 79 now--so the dates fit with your theory of Eric being 79.

Re: BBC Radio Essex
Yes, you could be right Marian, he has mentioned this Two or Three times that he was one of the kids in Oliver.
I was thinking of the Lionel Bart stage musical in 1960.
