Packed and ready to go

The house is upside down, luggage and merchandise is everywhere and the phone doesn't stop ringing. Matt is downstairs doing a series of five live radio interviews and there is a list a mile long to get through. Why.... because tomorrow is the start of a thirty date British concert tour.
Even after years of doing this, it never seems to get less frantic on the days leading up to departure, however organised you think you are. Press coverage for the tour started a few weeks ago and it means at least three or more interviews a day, either for newspapers or radio. This is a brand new one man show and has meant Colin has spent months writing new music for all the musicians. Dress suits have to be dry cleaned, shirts pressed, soap bag replenished as well as trips to the doctor and hairdresser and the garage for an overhaul on the car.
Just when you think everything is under control a huge spanner hits the works. Paul White pulled out with only three days notice. That's the trouble with people, they let you down. Matt has no choice but to make alternative arrangements but the last thing any artist needs days before a tour is this sort of upset. It now means he will have to drive himself which puts an added strain on arrangements.
Colin's beautiful wife 'Pudding' as she is affectionately known has taken over the onus of the merchandise so please make a point of saying hello to her at the venues. She is a lovely person and I am sure will bring sunshine to the tour with her wide smile and warm personality.
So if anyone is going to the first show at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon tomorrow, I hope you have a wonderful time. You will be the first ones to see the new show and don't forget to make Matt feel at home.
I will pop back in a day or two and give you the first hand news of how opening night went. Stay tuned.
