Off The Radar.

Post by Rob H » Sun Apr 21, 2013 8:56 am

To all my friends on this forum and facebook etc, I have been off the radar for sometime now due to elderly and not so elderly family members being seriously ill. My 17 year old daughter had to pull out of sixth year at school due to illness, but is on the mend thankfully! She has been given a place on a college course in August that will enable her to forward her chances of getting a place at University in Aberdeen next year! However, my my two elderly parents are gravely ill and have been married for almost 56 years. They have both been unable to have major surgery undertaken because of other ailments complicating these procedures. In the past two weeks they have been rushed into two different hospitals and sadly this has taken a toll on my health. I'm flying to the Isle of Man in the morning to visit my 93 year old step grandmother to give her the news. My fathers condition and her recent stroke has effected her speech, they sadly cannot communicate with each other anymore on the phone. I have resigned myself that this is how life has presented itself and no matter the outcome, I feel they both will be in a better place if god takes them sooner than later. My grandmother lost her other son five years ago to Motor Neurone disease and I fear she maybe be outliving her only remaining son. Keep posting and take care!!

We are so sorry to hear that your parents and family members are in such poor health Rob.
Those of us who have been in similar circumstances know how stressful and upsetting it can be. Take care Rob, and if it's possiblem try and take some time out for yourself.
