For me the shaft of sunlight piercing the general gloom
of 2008 was Michele's thoughtful invitation to join her
creative flight crew aboard the cyberspaceship,
WWW.MATTMONRO.COM.
In her capacity as captain on the bridge, Michele has guided
us to numerous unexplored areas of the Matt Monro
musical galaxy. Engineering marvel, Murph, continues
to impress us with his technical expertise and we are
grateful for Marian's navigational assistance, particularly
in relation to the induction courses she runs for new recruits.
Let us hope the Federation does not, as was feared, order us
back from voyaging to new interplanetary experiences, always
to the accompaniment of on-board Monro musical masterpieces.
(Richard Moore's polished behind-the-scenes presentation
thereof has not gone unnoticed.)
So please powers that be, let our happy band of cyberspace
travellers warp-drive into 2009 and beyond. Life on the quayside
of dry dock seems a dispiriting prospect. Happy New Year!

For some reason, I have to submit my postings up to 7 times before they are accepted--does anyone else have this problem--or is it due to good , old , quirky AOL ??

Apart from the problems i mentioned in trying to access the various areas of Scrapbook etc, etc, i might say that a few months ago i had a lot of anxiety and upset wih my Server, AOL.

After experiencing many problems , and spending much time on my phone to customer services, AOL technicians, and being near suicidel, i requested the address of AOL, and was given a box no in Bristol, so i fired of a letter of complaint, which resulted in a Lady calling me on my phone, and apoligised to me , refunded some money to my account, and talked me tru solving the problems on my pc, in a matter of minutes, something the technicians failed to do.

I was gobsmacked in more ways than one, as all the folk i had spoken to at AOL customer services, inc technicians, seemed to be of the Asian race, some of which i found extremily hard to understand. My friend told me i was most likly talking to a call centre in India.

Anyhow, it was like a breath of fresh air, when this Lady called, because She was calling from AOL head office,which is in Co Waterford Ireland. And , bless her ,She was the Manageress of customer services , and had the sweetest voice, and provided me with her phone number, should i have any more problems.

HI Seamus--thanks for your info on your problems with AOL, my sister uses them also, and often just cannot get on line, but on phoning the advice is always the same--check all connections etc etc--sometimes from someone impossible to understand. It is really difficult to get hold of someone who can really help. We have both thought of changing our server but are reluctant--firstly because we like AOL--how it is set up etc---plus any other company could be as bad or worse--and also we got a good offer to stay, when we phoned to say we were thinking of changing server--my payment dropped by £10.00 a month !!

Good job you phoned them Marian £10 a month is not to be sniffed at, and it's better being in your pocked rather than theirs
