Say NO to 0870

Here is a money saving tip for anyone that has Sky. They are offering a deal called 'Sky Talk Unlimited' (although not widely advertised) and it gives you FREE calls to all normal numbers, 01, 02, 03, day and night with no restrictions. It also gives you free calls to 20 overseas countries including USA and Australia. What is the catch - well it costs £5.00 a month with no minimum contract and is absolutely fantastic. Mobile calls are also 25% less than on BT. I have chosen to keep my BT line rental but you can change to Sky for £10.50 a month. There is no installation or equipment needed and it takes about 10 days to activate. You don't even have to contact BT, Sky do everything for you.
You can talk for up to an hour for free, then hang up and re-dial and carry on talking. It is fantastic. If you want to read more about it then go to the link below.

Now even if you don't go with this package I have to tell you that most companies, whether British Gas, Nat West, Barclays etc etc all have these 0870 numbers which are considered prime time calls and cost a lot more. Well you can put a stop to this right now. Go to

either type the name of the company you want or type in the number you usually dial and in seconds you will be given either a cheaper landline number or a toll free number. If you happen to be with Sky Talk Unlimited it means that all these calls are now free as well.
These companies are obviously getting a kick back from BT or the like and have all installed high premium rate numbers and like so many people, most don't know they have a choice.
Furthermore I joined Sky Broadband about six months ago as I had the worst problems with Freeserve once Orange took over and I was paying more than £20.00 a month. Now I pay £5.00 and the service has been wonderful. If you need to call their helpline an actual person answers, it is quite amazing and now because I have taken the Sky Talk Unlimited they are guaranteeing my broadband price until at least 2010. Actually you can sign up for their broadband for FREE but it is a slightly slower connection. I don't know how they do it but I have been a customer for some time now and there are no hidden catches. It is truly fantastic what I am saving a month.
Here's hoping you will save some money in 2009
Happy Holidays
