Hey Wahzy, it doesn't look legit to me because of the inferior artwork and licensing info on the back cover. Not too sure though so I figured I'd ask.

Hi,
It's sort of Legit. It contains recordings which are out of copyright in both the UK and Philippines. Interestingly Dyna music used to issue EMI recordings in the Philippines when EMI had no presence there themselves.
Its' a mixture of Decca and EMI recordings, however their "audiophile" claims will be rubbish. You can only get decent 192k 24bit remasters from original master tapes - you could take it from vinyl but what would be the point! These people would not have had access to the tapes as they reside in the UK and any copy tapes used in the past would have to come from EMI Asia - 'TOCO ASIA' who have licensed these recordings to Dyna have no connections with EMI, Universal or Warners. In reality Dyna could just issue these tracks without licensing them, but considering how rude and unhelpful they were when i was researching Matt's Philippine recordings and even more unhelpful later when trying to find the master tapes for Memory/Be My Lady (which have never been found) I don't have much sympathy for them.
They wouldn't be able to use official photographs on the cover as these are covered by a much longer copyright that the 50 years that covers sound recordings in the Philippines.
Copyright in the UK is now 70 years, but that only covers recordings issued after 1963 anything recorded and issued before that is now out of copyright.

Thanks for the info Richard, I wasn't planning on getting this one anyhow as I know how inferior the quality of the cd's and lps that are issued in the Philippines are. I just shocked there is a whole slew of these kinds, such as Connie Francis, Patti Page, Pat Boone..same kinda of artwork and stuff.

With regards to Dyna, I find it very sad that any company would be unhelpful in helping track down recordings!
Surely you would think that it would also be in their interests to help?
Would be very interested to know what tracks have been recorded by Matt that have never seen the light of day?

Most good tracks have now been released on The Rare Monro & Matt Uncovered - The Rarer Monro.
If your interested in knowing exactly what Matt recorded and when it's worth tracking down a copy of the deluxe version Michele's Biography of her father which includes a second book (Special Reserve) with complete session details by yours truly, tv & radio show listings a discography and a CD of rare tracks never released anywhere else.
