The Impossible Dream (The Quest)

Hi guys.
I had to sadly attend my best friend's Dad's funeral the other week. I was honoured to be asked to provide the music for the service and the wake. On a lighter note Born Free featured on the wake compilation I made.
The actual closing song at the service was The Impossible Dream. Which I thought was especially fitting lyrically. The only thing is it was Andy Williams version which I just don't like at all. It made me realise how much better Matt's version is. Granted the Andy Williams version sounds great orchestrally. It's just his voice has far too much echo on it for me. Especially the final line of 'unreachable staaaarrrr'. It really seems unnecessary. I like a lot of Andy Williams' songs but this one to me just seems so over produced. Maybe it was because I used the remastered version from his recent 'best of CD'? I've seen Richard comment in the past that sometimes these remasters can sound too 'clean' and crisp, whilst removing a lot of the warmth and depth to a vocal.
This seems like a strange topic to create. I haven't been on here for a while so I'd like to just see what you guys thought? I guess if there's anything I prefer in the Williams version, is the backing. It sounds a bit richer and lifelike. But that's it!
Here is Andy Williams version:

And Matt's (the better, not being biased):

Cheers guys,
Alex.
