STUDENT CANTEEN was the first noontime variety show on Philippine television, it was broadcast by three networks: ABS-CBN from 1958 to 1965, GMA Channel 7 from 1975 to 1986 and RPN from 1989 to 1990.

Student Canteen was originally a radio show on DZXL hosted by Eddie Ilarde, Bobby Ledesma, Bobby de Veyra and Leila Benitez by the name of CBN Canteen.

The noontime show was aired on the canteen of the old Manila Chronicle Building in Aduana, Manila. It was later renamed Student Canteen after it became a hit to students.

That Matt Appeared on A Philippine TV Show called "Student Canteen" I think there is a chance you can get the video on ABS-CBN because if you look in the top it says it was broadcasted by three networks

RPN (Radio Philippines Network) 1989-1990

The problem often is that Matt would be invited onto TV shows whilst on tour and therefore the contracts didn't work their way into the archives so there will be odd things like this. The likelihood of it surviving is very low though, although it won't stop me asking.

I've already heard back from ABS-CBN - They don't have anything at all featuring Matt. Disappointing, but not unsurprising.

Do you know what's the event here? Matt was with Russ Conway any info here

Well that's Dorothy Squires as the placard on the model says "Say It With Flowers" and that is a song
she wrote and recorded with Russ Conway. Could be the model was the winner in some kind of beauty
contest.

Hard to say exactly. Matt was often asked to take part in publicity things wherever he was. Most like on a tour or summer season with Russ etc. - Not to say that they were all on the same bill either. In those days of many more theatres, they could be performers from more than one show line up, which makes tracing exactly where and when very difficult.

But, What is Matt's last words I like to ask because this wasn't mentioned in every documentary or article.

Nobody but the family knows, and I'm not going to ask, I'm afraid. If Michele had wanted that to be known, it would be in her book.

Yes Karl he has a belted Mac/Raincoat on usually it was just a uniform
