Richard,

Firstly, many congratulations on your inestimable contribution to making this a truly wonderful box set - both in terms of coverage and fidelity.

One small query. You state in the liner notes that 'All The Wishing In The World' was receiving its first CD release. However, it appeared on a Reader's Digest CD Box Set in the late 90s.

Thanks again,

Vance

Thanks for that.

A couple of things dropped through the cracks, The other being the Mono single version of From Russia With Love. I have since found out that this has appeared on cd before on a John Barry compilation (Themeology) on Sony Records. Why it was is a mystery as John Barry had nothing to do with it! (Written by Lionel Bart and arranged and conducted by Johnnie Spence)

My notes were compiled from multiple sources, and whillst EMI's archives are correct about compilations they have issued themselves this is not the case with the non EMI compilations so it was a bit of a minefield. As it happens I struggled with how is should treat the Readers Digest set as this was a limited release and not sold through stores. Just Yesterday, I love the little things and a few others appeared on that set for the first time. I originally listed all the Readers Digest tracks as Rare on CD - this is what it should have said for All the Wishing too.

I'm afraid that it is impossible to know every CD in the world that includes a track by Matt so no matter what I do it's impossible to be 100% sure.

Hope the set sounds better than the readers digest though!

Richard

Thank you, this clears things up.

Does it sound better this time around? indubitably, and so do many others. Many thanks again for your efforts.
