The Lady is a Tramp

Post by usafret » Thu Sep 08, 2005 5:44 pm

Hello Michele, do you think it is possible that there will ever be "The lady is a tramp" included in any of Matt's up and coming CDs.
I have a version of it, but it is distorted and has a big interruption in the middle of the song.
It was taken from the British TV series , "lady Is A Tramp" than ran from 1983-84.
Some parts are clear and as usual Matt did a wonderful job singing the song. That is the only recording i have ever hear of it, by him.
Another song i would love to hear on cd is "It was a very good year"
which he sang in a guest appearence, on "Talk of the Town", and again the
only time i heard him sing it.
Thanks--ED

Unfortunately we do not have a copy of Lady is a Tramp ourselves, I have kept my eye out for it to emerge but it seems destined to stay hidden.
With regards to the Bennett material dad sang on the shows, Tony has copyright over the material in all of his televised shows. We did get permission to use "Lullaby on Broadway" which is a great duet with dad and Tony, on our forthcoming DVD "A Portrait Of", but unfortunately Odeon Entertainment turned the opportunity down.
Sorry
