RARE MATT ON EBAY

There's some cracking stuff on Ebay tonight including the Readers Digest box and a very rare single that does not appear to be on cd but on checking the discography both tracks are from a Matt & Don Rennie LP.

The Ember single isn't actually that rare. There are quite a lot of copies about. Dreadful songs which Matt hated (recorded as demos for the writer Merek Farran ) and had stopped by legal action. They have appeared on CD on a few grey area discs but will never be included on an official release.

Incidentally Matt also recorded a whole series of 10 minute transcription radio shows with Farran, which survive but contain really appalling songs and deathly dull arrangements and hence are not worthy of release.

Thanks Richard, sounds like Jackie's first two singles. I only ever managed to track down one of them but it sounded nothing like her and I know she doesn't care for it either.

I've had this LP for quite some years. I only bought it for the picture of Matt on the sleeve. I agree Richard that the songs are less than memorable, to say the least.

It just goes to show how an artist can take a dull song or arrangement and breath life into it, I wonder how they felt singing songs they didn't like, were they happy to be doing it or praying for better material?

Bought this great signed photo of Matt ................an original from the 70's, it is a double weight photo with the photograph studio name "Dezo Hoffman Ltd" Gerrard Street London printed on the back of the photo ..................it is a really good quality exceptional signed photo of Matt, and the first signed photo of Matt I have bought

Do you you mean Dezo Hoffman? I went to his studio years ago on a trip to London and bought some pictures of Dusty. I remember stepping out of a tiny old lift and there was a life size picture of Dusty on the wall.

That is a really lovely photo of Matt Robert and signed too

I have just had a look at my collection and it is the one used for part of a boxed set of 3 and this picture was used for 'The Best Of The EMI Years'.
I don't know if it is on any others.

Karl, it probably is Dezo Hoffman............ on the back of the photo the writing is joined up "proper" writing so is hard to make out .............the photo may be worth a bit then
