Love is a many Splendoured Thing

Post by davewebb » Sat Oct 29, 2005 8:40 pm

Hi Everyone,
One of my favourite songs by Matt was Love is a many Splendoured Thing, a very moving song for me, used at the end of a famous film. My question is, what film did this come from.( I can't for the life of me remember the title) I'm sure I will have many replies, Thanks, Dave.

Hi Dave,
Yes, "Love Is A Many Splendoured Thing" is a beautiful song.
It was from the film..... "The Sand Pebbles". Directed by Robert Wise, and starred Steve Mcqueen, Richard Crenna and Candice Bergen.

Hi there

It comes from the film of the same name starring William Holden and Jennifer Jones. It is about a Eurasian doctor's love for a married war correspondent in 1955 set against a war background in Hong Kong.
