We have heard officially that the BBC4 programme gleamed 250,000 viewers which apparantly is fantastic numbers for that channel. I would like to see it on BBC1 so everybody has a chance to see it not just satellite viewers.

If you feel the same please e-mail David Jackson, Head of Music & Arts at BBC Wales, who commissioned the Matt Documentary. His e-mail address is: david.jackson@bbc.co.uk

If you like the old fashioned way the address is

BBC Wales
Broadcasting House
Llantrisant Road
Llandaff
Cardiff
Wales
CF5 2YQ

Thank you all
:)

Michele,
I was able to get hold of a copy of the BBC program and I have watched it at least three times - IT IS FANTASTIC. A lot of interesting facts came out on the program that I hadn't known about your dad. I assume Matt's grandson is your son. He was so cute about his grandfather's CDs in the music shops. Let's hope he is interested in carrying on the singing tradition. It would be so nice to have another Monro with that "Golden Voice".

Matt was only 5 1/2 years older than me, so even though we lived in different countries, we experienced some of the same things during the 1940s and 1950s - I could relate to some of his experiences.

It would also interesting to find out if your dad descended from those English Bards who traveled through the countryside, serenading in the taverns - we have to enherit our talents from somewhere.
