Ember Records

Post by DutchDean » Sun Oct 01, 2006 4:05 pm

I recently found information on these two tracks issued in January 1961.

A: Quite Suddenly
B: The Ghost Of Your Past

Issued on 7" single onEmber EMB S 120

Does anyone know why this was on this label and when it was recorded?
Have they ever been re-issued on CD?

This seems a strange release as it seems to have been issued after Matt had released a couple of singles on Parlophone? It is also not any of the songs recorded at Decca.

Anyone?

They must have been trying to cash in on Matts success

That's for sure! This often happens after an artist has a sucess. Just interested where it came from - it is not mentioned in any of the EMI releases or on this website?

Yes, these tracks have been released on CD. They appear on the Don Rennie and Matt Monro CD, which was basically a re-release of the original Ember LP, Matt Monro and Don Rennie (names in that order) released in September 1965.
