Matt's Finest - The Marks & Spencer CD

Post by DutchDean » Tue Sep 19, 2006 11:39 am

Can someone please help me get this CD - I am in Holland and have not been able to get to the UK since it's release. I can pay via PAYPAL or cash US or Euro.
It is the CD exclusive to M&S issued in January of 2006.
Thanks Dean

Bad Luck Dean--I had a spare copy on offer in the "Buy Sell Trade "section earlier this year. M & S at that time were selling 3 for the price of 2.

I do not often get into our local M & S. but I am sure others on this forum do, and will be able to help you out.

Also, try putting a request in the "Buy Sell Trade" section, right at the bottom of the page.

Good Luck---Marian

Hi Len and Freda---I was able to buy a cd for Dean, while I was on holiday in Manchester ---just last month--so if you can get to a M & S store they should still be available--or if you cannot get to a store-try ordering it on-line--that is how I got my one.

Hello everyone - tried to get hold of this at 2 of the biggest M &S branches - Newcastle and Metro Centre, and they didn't have it. Plenty of Johnny Ray, Alma Cogan and Connie Frances tho! You can order it at marksandspencer.com, but not sure if they post out of the UK

Hi Mike---I think M & S is like Tesco, and does not post abroad.

Marian -- You are correct; M&S doesn't post abroad. Besides the Matt Monro CD is no longer listed on the M&S website, so it's already out of print.

You can add Boots to your list. I've tried to order my razor blades and they won't mail them ... so I have to visit the UK once or twice a year to a new supply of Wilkinson razor blades---along with many other products and music!

Hi Paull-I am surprised that the Matt Monro cd is not listed at M & S any more. I know I bought one in the massive store in Manchester, this time last month--but I also noted that they had a lot of new titles out. I guess its just a case of seeing if the store in question has any surplus stock left.

I did not know that Boots did not sell abroad either-I would be lost without Boots, M& S, WHSmith.

Tell me about - I have to get to the UK at least twice a year for things I cannot buy here in Holland, and I have lived here 17 years. Crazy but I still just miss some British things...

Paul, you're not telling us that you cannot buy "razor blades" to your liking in the US   you must be on a nice little commission (nice little earner) by advertising Boots and Wilkinson on here

Yes, Robert, that's what I'm saying. The only razor blades I can use are no longer available in the US. They were marketed as Schick Protector in the US, but they replaced them with triple, quadruple blades and the like ... I don't like them. I found my protector blades in the UK and Germany marketed as Wilkinson and they are even better than the Schick. I usually buy out everything in stock at the Boots past security at Heathrow so I don't have to pay the VAT. Yes, I should get a commission!

Everyone teases me because I fly to the UK for razor blades, but it's so much more (Strepsils, Paracetemol, Kakuro magazines, Molton Brown products, Waitrose shortbread cookies, Bhs ties, Jacob's cream crackers, Camay soap, Bronnley products, CDs at HMV and Virgin, sheet music, greeting cards, and Prodir pens). The only things that are occasionally available in the US are a limited selection of Molton Brown products and Jacob's cream crackers.

Hi--I guess because USa is not into Tea like Uk, Paul did not mention tea---or Cadburys chocolate! None of the American chocolate has that "Cadbury" taste.

But talking of teabags reminds me of a holiday I had when I was staying in Brussels--a big ,well known hotel--and the first morning they solemnly bought a huge jug of hot water for each table, and then proceeded to give us one teabag per jug !!!!

The next morning, there had been so many complaints---they did exactly the same, but this time each waiter had a pocket full of teabags, and if you complained that the tea was weak, your waiter would fish one out of his pocket, so it could be dropped in the jug of rapidly cooling water. It was crazy !!! Also put me off tea for the rest of that holiday !!

Think you'll find that the M&S Matt Monro CD is still available, and is definitely still on the website - heres the link. http://www.marksandspencer.com/IWCatPro ... al=locayta

Its also on buy 3 and get one free.

I only buy disposable razors now - the blades are such a con!
