I was wondering if anyone might know if our man MM prefered a type of microphone while performing?
One that I see a lot in photos is much like the one seen in the Melbourne concert DVD; I'm pretty sure its a Shure (haha) condenser mic, but can't fix any more info on it but that.
While such a detail might seem mundane to some, to others it shows a host of tidbits, such as the type of sound MM was after, and so forth.
A very good book called "Sessions With Sinatra" delves into the technical aspects of Sinatra's recordings, including mic talk. A bit heavy for me, but I was just curious if anyone might know if there was a prefrence in these performances.
Needless to say, it was Mr. Monro that was making the magic happen; the mic is trivial.
