Yes Robert, she did and she was mortified. I wasn't going to mention it.

We often get our surname spelt Downs or Downes instead of Down, and of course Marion when it's Marian. I'm used to it though.
It's our address we get the most fun with though... the name of our road is Sweetzers Piece, and we get all sorts.. Sweetners Place, Sweetzero Piece, and even Piece of Cake once!!

What an unusual but nice address, there are new houses quite close to me with the address Kinnerghame Road - who makes them up I wonder?

I have heard they are nice inside but from the outside they look like lumps of cheese - anyway they cost a fortune!

On the LP "Matt Will Sing Foerever" (Axis label) the spelling on the sleeve is fine until you look down the edge of the LP where you will see the spelling as MUNRO. Also the same thing on "This Is The Life" and "We're Gonna Change The World". On "This Is All I Ask" (Pickwick label) we have Monro spelt MONROE.

On Top Pop Club the sleeve notes and the record both have MUNRO and the same spelling is on the Chaplin Revue.

The Last One is on "Matt Monro Sings Don Black". The sleeve is fine but the actual LP has in quite large letters on both sides MONROE.

It's worth remembering that the fact that other people can't spell Matt's name can be an advantage on eBay.

I always search for all possible spellings of Matt's name, and I've picked up bargains where I've been the only person bidding because the name has been misspelt.

Very true 'Inky'. I've also found some good bargains that way, and I believe Michele has too.

There ia a special site for all misspelled items-I have looked, but never bought anything there-I will try and remember what it is.

I have apologised to John several times BUT had it changed when the book was reprinted so I feel slightly absolved.

Anyways people spell my name Michelle all the time!!

Hi Monrovians,
I recently purchased "Words and Music" and "Yesterday" from Amazon (UK) , and the Invoice clearly says " Audio, Monroe,Matt"..
Oh Dear.
Concur with Keith though,it's the man and the voice that counts..

It's 'Monro', not 'Munro'! From Independent's 60 Things about the Queen etc.

Thanks for scanning that John. I expect better QC from The Independent. And it wasn't necessary to stick the Born Free in his name. But it may sell more records!
