Better still, buy a copy on line AND in a store, then give one as a gift for Valentine's day. :D

Happy Belated Birthday, John.

Marian - that's a great suggestion to buy 2 or more copies!

Robert - I don't agree with you that everyone owns all 22 tracks but Love Story. I don't think I have Till Then My Love, The Music Played, More, and Be My Lady. They will be on two unopened compilations that I'm saving for a rainy day when I need to hear brand new Matt Monro music in the car. They may be on The Singer's Singer, but I don't take that to the car. So it will be nice to have these new songs for the car. Also, it's nice to have a collection of predominately love songs.

Also, this will be marketed to casual fans of Matt Monro and introduce new people to Matt Monro. Last year the real dedicated fans like us were treated to Heart Of The Man and The Rare Monro, as well as the Nelson Riddle CD. It's time to have a new compilation for new fans.

Those songs ARE on "The Singers Singer" Paul, so everyone will own them  The "More" version though, is the duet with Matt Jnr, but Matts version of "More" appeared on the Tesco compilation, last year.

I thought the solo More was on the M&S compilation, not the Tesco one. But I may be wrong; I don't own either, as they contained many repeats. I believe the solo More will be on From Matt Monro With Love.

Yes it was on the M&S compilation Paul, I was getting mixed up a little there

Thanks for your birthday wishes, Paul, it isn't until the weekend, but the gift will be belated because the cd isn't released until 5th February.

Happy birthday in advance John--from me.

Paul if you have not yet heard Matt sing "Till then my love"--you are in for a treat---a really beautiful song, and a great rendition from Matt--this is one of my top 5 of Matts recordings.

At least your birthday isn't today, which British researchers have dubbed the most depressing day of the year.

Have a good birthday weekend, John.

I agree, Marian, TILL THEN, MY LOVE is beautiful. BE MY LADY is great too, recorded in 1983, a later recording.

I guess I've heard Till Then My Love and Be My Lady if they are on The Singer's Singer as Robert has said. But since I only listen to it at home, I don't get too much time to listen to it. It will be nice to have them on a new compilation.

Also a great buy for Mother's Day, or Mothering Sunday Paul, a little later in the year. Yours in the U.S. is always at a very different time from ours in England.
I wonder why? :D

From Matt, With Love

Couple of things to clear up. There are 23 tracks on the new CD. The full listing are on 'CD of the Month'
The CD is available from Tesco, WH Smith, Asda, Morrisons, Woolworths, Sainsburys, Virgin and HMV as well as most on-line record shops. The TV adverts will start on Sunday 4th February.

'More', the solo version, is on this new album. It had previously been inlcuded on the M&S exclusive release but was ONLY available in England. I have included the track on this album to make it more readily avaialble to our overseas friends.

The Singer's Singer, which was one of my special projects, was produced as a limited release of 2000 units. There are very few people that own it. Because it is a special collector's item and in elongated packaging which inlcudes a book, it is not practicle for taking in the car or on trips so I thought it would be nice to include a few of those songs on a universal packaged release.

There will always be disappointment. I cannot please all the people all of the time, but as well as trying to keep his staunch fans happy, I have to pander to EMI's wishes and try and gain a new fan base. There are news buyers all the time who are being introduced to the music of Matt Monro and it through that support, that it allows me to do other projects.

I do hope you enjoy From Matt With Love

The missing track is "Once In Every Long and Lonely While" a track I haven't got 8) But the 4 disc "limited edition" - "Singers Singer" is still available to order on HMVs website, surely it must have sold its 2000 copies by now :?: :?
