A good day for Matt 'Yesterday' No. 11 on Tony Blackburns 1965 programme.''What a beautiful singer this became Matts last top 20 hit,and what a fabulous one''

Also listening to Graham Norton interviewing Robbie Williams on his new CD Swing Both Ways he said the front picture was a ripping off of a Matt Monro cover as he was a big Matt Monro fan :D :D

Yes it was great hearing Matt singing YESTERDAY on Tony Blackburn's 1965 show and on my birthday as well.
Also for the nice things he said as well, good on you Tony.

I saw Robbie's new cd in Morrison's today and wondered what the relevance is to a Matt album cd?

When everyone else views the cover they will know. 8)

Robbie's Dad was a guest at Michele's book release at the EMI building in London, where many of us were pleased to be invited too. :D

Yes, and he wanted Robbie to come with him (or 'The Lad' as he called him!), but unfortunately he had just got back with Take That and couldn't make it. Michele had always heard that he was a fan, but it's nice to have it confirmed by the man himself.

I don't think he's mimicking any one picture just the sort of style or pose.

The Long and Winding Road is also a contender as is his first EP 'Matt Monro'

I love On Days Like These ...and Robbie ....i love it when he sings Mr Bojangles ... :D What great taste he has too to love Matts music ....its strange because my love of both these artistes increased when we went to Tenerife 2 yrs ago and tribute acts were there in the evenings ....can't wait to go again next year just to find the tributes :D (There was a great Billy Idol one too who was also a comedian ...love it ). Radio 2 is a lovely station they play so much music from the different eras ... And to think i used to love radio one when younger ....grates on me now
Softly, I will leave you softly
For my heart would break if you should wake and see me go.....
