Im curious to know what items other fellow members and fans of Matt have in their collection so feel free to list your CD''s Records, Tapes etc or ones that your still trying to find. Also what memroblia do u have?

I have all original UK Stereo pressings LP's from the 60's and am working on the Mono's. I only have a few CD''s at present. I have a signed photo with a small concert flyer from gig in 1984 and a signed album page. The only other item i have is An Evening with Matt Monro DVD so it's not a great deal but would like to hear from other members to what they have in their collection.

I have most of Matt's CDs and some LPs & 45s. Also I have some rare songs that I hope will be enhanced by Richard in the "Rarer Monro" CDs.
These songs include: "The Way We Were"..."Let Me Try Again"... "It's Magic"..."Without a Song"..."I'll Walk Alone"..."I've Heard That Song Before".
Also some programs when Matt was the guest vocalist - - The Airmen of Note-"Serenade in Blue" & Billy May conducting BBC Big Band with Matt.

Unfortunately Henry most of those song's don't survive in good enough quality for me to do do any thing with - they are either from audience tapes from concerts or low quality off air recordings.

Of course if anybody has really good off air recordings of these or any other songs do let us know!
These things do turn up sometimes - I have recently been sent a disc of some off air TV show soundtracks that are (whilst not perfect) several gennerations closer to the original than we had before.

The Airmen Of Note recordings are not available for licence. The Billy May stuff does exist in stunning quality though. The broadcast was produced by the late great Alan Dell. Even though the BBC didn't keep the recording, he kept a copy of the masters reels!

These are now part of the Dell Collection at the British Library National Sound Archive - Visitors can listen to both halves of the broadcast on their sound servers.

However due to the BBC not having copies of the show themselves it's quite complicated to get this licenced. We have hopes that we might be able to do something with it in the future but not in time for Rarer.

I currently have a list infront of me that will fill two CD's right to the brim IF there are no licencing issues.

Do you folks tend to buy all of the Matt best of collections, even if this means duplicating most of the tracks?

I think many of us do, Mike--especially if that compilation has a previously unreleased track-than it becomes a must-have.

So far I've gone down the route of not buying too many of the compilations. Where there is one unreleased track I've just downloaded it. Must admit I'd like all those tracks to be in one place. I've crumbled a bit recently as I bought Complete Heartbreakers as I liked the selection on there, and a couple of others as they were extremely cheap second hand on Amazon.

Where there is a CD like the Marks & Spencers exclusive, it is frustrating not to be able to download the exclusive tracks that are on there. I never did find that CD.

Very impressed with your lists everyone.
