Matt Monro Forum

This is really surreal for me hearing this last night. I usually fall asleep with the radio on or listening to cds in bed with my headphones on. Last night I had the "rock" station on which plays a little of everything from each decacde. A little Rock, R'n'B Dance, etc..well the disc jockey last night played 3 tracks as a triple play from Matt's new cd. He said on the radio, That it was a smooth groove that everyone should just dig, vibe, and groove with it from a really "epic dude" (epic is a form of high praise that people use now) named Matt Monro. The songs he played was "It's Only A Paper Moon", "My Funny Valentine" and "Amor, Amor, Amor". I guess the DJ had some airtime to play what he wanted and played Matt. This was a first for me hearing Matt on a station that doesn't play Matt's genre of music!! I wonder what Matt would think if he knew he was an "epic dude". Probably he'd be like my Dad and raise his eyebrows and shake his head. when the grandchildren call him "epic". LOL The generation gap indeed.

Wow Eman--that must have been great-I bet you thought you were dreaming at first--I wonder how many others caught it--and thought---"That is really good " !!

That is really great that the new cd is getting some airplay, that was a nice surprise for you Eman.

John and Robert..like I said it was so surreal to hear Matt on the radio and on a rock station at that..so Matt was in the company of people like Pitbull, Katy Perry, Nikki Minaj, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, BCR's, Zepplin, Earth Wind and Fire, etc. Kinda freaky but good freaky!!

Greg, yep Matt is "Epicmaxiums". Hopefully more folks in the US will latch on to him and he gets the recognition he so rightfully deserves!!
