Just heard Michele on Siren playing the 'first take' of Matts LOVE WALKED IN from the ALTERNATE MONRO.

A really fabulous laid back easy listening version of this song.Can't wait to hear the rest of the tracks.

Glad you enjoyed it. George Martin was probably correct in choosing the version he did as a pop single, but I much prefer the laid back version.

Todays offering on Siren was a fabulous version of My Kind Of Girl from the Alternate Monro..It is as though you are watching him in concert backed by a huge orchestra,it just bounces along.
Can understand why it wasn't the chosen version though

I thought it is called "The Alternate Monro" Sandra. I am sure they have changed the title on Amazon, but certainly the cover says "Alternate". So you were right all along.

It's listed on CDUNIVERSE as Alternate Monro and the price is $12.05 so I think Amazon have got it wrong, also if the release date is September 16th how come there is no track listing or sleeve and also why isn't it showing on either Blah or Play.com?

No idea what's going on with Amazon although I will flag it up with Parlophone.

Sandra, With no Michele the recording of My Kind of Girl wasn't explained. This was actually one of the 'Airmen Of Note' recordings from 1967 rather than an alternate from the single sessions (no alternates survive from then anyway). This was Matt's touring band arrangement which is quite different from the single as i'm sure you noticed.
