Post by Sandra » Sat Dec 07, 2013 9:40 am

jUST SEEN ON THE SINGER GARY GRACE'S WEBSITE THAT HE HAS A NEW CD OUT CALLED 'ECHOES OF MATT MONRO'.
IT LOOKS A SUPER SLEEVE-SORRY COVER,IN BLUE WITH A NICE PICTURE OF MATT IN THE TOP LEFT HAND CORNER AND ONE OF GARY IN THE RIGHT HAND CORNER.
I HAVEN'T FOUND A WAY TO LISTEN TO ANY OF THE TRACKS YET THOUGH :)

I just saw it on Amazon--but just a list of tracks--nothing to listen to. Sounds a really nice selection---but at more than twice the price of some of the lastest cds from Matt.............................

I had a look at some of his vidoe clips, there was also one with Tony Hatch - Gary sounds very good, there are shades of Matt in his style.

His cd's are worth checking out I think but why do we not hear more about talented singers like this?

I'd never heard of him until this post.

Hi Karl- read his webpage. He is one of those singers who has been on the road for years doing weddings, cruises, concerts large and small. He sometimes guests with a big band, other times just a trio.

Out of interest he sometimes has as his guest Nicola Farnon who plays the double bass and sings, and is also the neice of Robert Farnon who worked with Sinatra.

Sandra that's where I heard the soundclips on his website (see my previous post).

I have just order the three volumes of his Tributes To The Kings Of Swing. Volumes 1 & 2 is also available as a 2cd set at a cheaper price.

Robert Farnon - yes I know that name so the nees you gave me was interesting.

That's two great singers I have discovered this year, Gary and Lance Ellington and I was so pleased to see Lance with Susan Boyle on her tour.

Thanks to Matt's site for giving us this information.
