Converting Others to Matt's music....

I'm just a "yank" that's been hooked on Matt's music for several years now. People get into my car (my audi a8 with a great sound system) and after a bit of driving they ask me......"who is this great singer?".....and I answer that it is the immortal Matt Monro! They then ask "who?" I say you know....the guy who sang the theme song to the Bond movie "from russia with love". Most of them catch on, but not all of them. My significant other, Karen, is a Sinatra lover - nothing wrong with that. But recently on a 15 hour drive where she dozed most of the way, I played Matt's music.....and she commented on his performance. She said...Oh My God....He is so Clear.....So concise......his pronounciation.....it's like poetry. And....he never seem's to run out of breath....!!!!
She has since admitted becomming a Matt-fan! And now she is trying to convice some of her friends to do the same.
I have seen only a part of documentary about Matt on U-Tube, where it describes his difficult upbringing. He is truly a remarkable human being who transcends borders and age groups.
I just purchased a new Matt CD that I've been playing all evening. Just when I think I've heard it all.....this incredible man shows me I haven't heard anything yet. What a voice, what an accent, what a diction!
Is it any wonder that the Great Frank Sinatra called Matt the "singer's singer"? All of his talent being purely natural, no training - that is truly amazing! He is - in his own arena - in the same class a Pavarotti is to Opera! This in NOT an exageration....
There are many people out there who think they can sing. But I challenge them......try to sing with such ease, clarity, and endurance as Matt does! Very few if any people can do it. Matt is in a class by himself.
I miss him Very Much! He represents the golden age of the sixties! A time that I wish I could go back to. Sincerely....Jeff from America!!!!!!!
