I HAVE A OLD VHS IN WHICH MATTS SINGS "THANKS "(TO THE LORD)
HE IS SINGING IT SOLO.
DOES ANYONE KNOW FROM WHICH SHOW THAT WAS PERFORMED????

Yes,

It can only be from one place.

The Morecambe and Wise Show 1971 - BBC

This was the only time he performed this song on TV solo - he did sing it on Whittaker's World of Music the same year, but with a group of people, as feature on Ultimate Performer.

The good news is that you won't have to keep a VHS copy for much longer as this is one performance feature on the DVD included in the Matt at the BBC set.
