Hi all, When I got the box set 'The singer's singer' probably like everyone I went right for the last disc and loved most of it, but one song that I absolutley love is 'Miss Brown to you'. It really makes me wonder why and how companies like E.M.I. never released this stuff before? Just imagine how much it must cost for arrangements,full concert orchestras, studio time Etc.,and just let fantastic recordings sit on the shelf like that?Other highlights for me are'I've got the moon on my side' and 'A lot of living'It just makes my anticipation for the 'Rare Monro' even greater!
Another thing from that particular C.D.is that all the tracks that had never either been released or released on C.D. are marked. However, the adverts aren't marked as such.Which C.D. were these released on, and what else does it contain? Intreaguing.

Hi John. I don't think the "adverts" have appeared anywhere else apart from "The Singer's Singer". He recorded many many adverts over the years, well over 100 I believe, but only those on the 4 Box CD set have been released to the public.
Also the song "I've Got The Moon On My Side" was one of Matts songs, chosen for the shortlist, when Matts represented the UK on The Eurovision Song Contest in 1964. That song didn't win the shorlist. The winner of the shortlist, which represented the UK in the contest was "I Love the Little Things", which finished runner up. (We were quite good at being runner up in those days). As you will probably know, in that 1964 contest a song which finished unplaced, was "Walk "Away", an Austrian entry. Matt loved the song so much, that he got Don Black to write some English lyrics, and the rest is history, as they say.
