Just picked up a vinyl LP of Steve Lawrence TU SERA MI MUSICA. Sung in Spanish.
Matt makes a lot better job of singing in that language!

He sure does Mark! I love listening to Matt sing in the Spanish language. I have 2 battered old Lps which really are great to listen to. The vocal quality and phrasing on these recordings is as excellent as always. Very smooth, very classy. Great stuff!

I have an old Spanish album by Matt. I have converted it to digital and put it through a computer program to clean up the clicks and pops. It now has been copied to a CD and sounds great! You should consider doing the same Lee.

Hello Keith and everyone. For the benefit of those of us who do not speak Spanish Keith, can you translate the above line please.

The only Spanish I know is food words, so I can order in restaurants in Latin America and Spain.
But I believe it means "The music Of Matt Monro lives forever" or "The music of Matt Monro will endure always". Anyway, you get the picture.
Matt Monro was very popular in Latin America. I always find many records in Argentina.
A few years ago, I bought a Spanish album by Matt Monro that was on a Dutch label. I played it for my Latin American friends and they had trouble understanding some of his Spanish words. So I believe he sings with a heavy English accent. The vowels and most consonants sound fine to me. But the strong English "t" bothers me. I can't believe that George Martin (or someone else) didn't coach him to sing a proper Spanish "t".

Hi everyone. I have just been visiting "You Tube" were people send in their own made up videos. Someone sent in a video of Matt singing Born Free in Spanish, sounds BEAUTIFUL in that language also.

Hi Robert, this is the second recording that we have seen and heard of Matt singing Born Free on the this site and such a pity that it's got all the
noise in the background, but we agree he sings this beautifully.

Hi Lena and Harry. I should have said in my previous post, that the video the person sent in is a little rude and noisy!!!! Born Free though, does sound SUPERB in Spanish.
