Didn’t hear the Zoe Ball one but heard yesterday’s From Russia With Love on Elaine Pages show, l was very lucky because we had been out and we just got back in the car and put radio on and it was just starting, very lucky.

Diane Warren is a famous American song writer and has written hits for Celine Dion and Meat Loaf to name just two, so for her to choose Matt singing Born Free is quite an honour for our Matt ...........do you know if Diane mentioned anything about her choice or if she mentioned anything about Matt in general

Listened to the programme on Iplayer tonight........Diane loved the song from the film when growing up and she said the song always makes her cry when she remembers the story of Elsa and her lion cubs.............Elsa got a mention, Don Black got a mention, but there was no mention of Matt!! .......only from Ken Bruce when announcing the song before it was played

Diane Warren was likely told to focus on the songwriter and not the singer (since she's a songwriter). Probably she chose a different songwriter each day.

Diane did tend to concentrate on the songwriters. She did say Don was a lovely person and the songs Born Free and To Sir With Love were ideal title tracks which told the story of the films in the songs

I didn’t think it was right not mentioning Matt and Don got a mention.
