I had a surprise last night-I was just getting ready to go out--about 7.45--went into the bathroom for 5 minutes to brush my hair etc--switched on the radio--and a familiar voice was singing--

"On a clear day"--it just sounded lovely-and as the announcer said---"That was Matt Monro---of course"..

Hi Marian,
and don't you feel so proud when you hear that voice.??
Wish there was a radio station somewhere in the world dedicated to Matt's music.
I go cold when I hear someone else singing a song that I KNOW Matt sings 100% better.
Wow....Just heard Matts "Answer Me" on local Magic 1278 (AM)..
(At least that's what I think it's called.!! "Answer me oh my love, just what sin have I been
guilty of....that one.!).

Yes Greg--that is called "Answer me" originally sung by David Whitfield--I think !!

And yes, I did feel very proud to hear our Matt on the radio--it just sounded so GOOD !!!! Especiially coming out of the blue.

Radio 2's Sounds of the Sixties played "Other People" from The Singles Collection last Saturday and Brian Matthews, the presenter, had warm words to say about Matt and about Michele in compiling the collection.

Brian was very familiar with Matt Jon. An interview that he did with Matt was included in the BBCs 40th Birthday celebration nearly Three years ago.
Goodness how time flies.

Who heard the guy on Pop Quiz this morning on Radio 2 ?His question was 'who is singing this song from a 1963 James Bond film'?
There followed Matt singing FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.
He thought about it for a few minutes and said it will have to be a guess.

Ken Bruce just played Portrait Of My Love

Nice Karl to hear Ken Bruce played Matt singing Portrait I didn't hear it because
we where on holiday he dosn't play him much at all and I had to be away when
he does. Anyway its nice that he did, Im always complaining that he never plays him, about time.

Yeah I know the feeling, he never plays Dusty either and yet years ago he compiled an album and included her!

Yes Karl he hardly ever plays Matt and on his love song section I thought he
would play him a bit more often. He plays Barbra Straisand loads of times in his
programme I like Barbra but he seems to faver her loads, halter your ways Ken
in the future.
Also I have just heard Matt on Steve Wright's programme with Were Gonna
Change The World, good man that Steve, he said great song great singer which
of course is very true.

That is one of my Matt favourites, it should have been a number one!!!

Ken Bruce's programme features the Radio 2 playlist songs and then hits from the 70s and 80s. Matt and Dusty are considered 60s artists.

I don't care who Steve Wright plays, I have no interest in hearing him talk over the songs. I do not "love the show"!
