We received our IN TUNE magazine today and were so pleased to see Matt's CD WORDS AND MUSIC advertised, but what pleased us more was that the magazines editor Gerry wrote that this was originally issued as an LP in 1962, and recorded while Matt was engaged on a Summer season at Weymouth, and then went on to say.. I don't think he ever made a better record than this .Indeed it deserves to be ranked among the finest vocal albums of all time. We couldn't agree more. :) :)

Yes we read that too L and H. It just confirms once more the absolute talent of the man who can record such a superb top class album while also doing a summer season in Weymouth(Our favourite English seaside resort!) :D :D

A good review below Matts of Chris Dean and the Syd Lawrence Orchestra too  :D

Hi Monrovians..
Running true to style, my copy of Words and Music arrived in the Antipodes by carrier pigeon yesterday, and like a kid with a new toy , I retreated to my PC to immerse myself in Micheles' latest offering.
If the tracks on 'Words and Music' are any indication of what musical Monro delicacies remain buried , bring on the excavation..!!
If anyone had told me five years ago I'd be buying a CD featuring the same tracks as a previously purchased disk , I'd have told them where to get off , but WOW I find myself intensely listening to every subtle change in breathing, phrasing, and different musical arrangement giving the songs a completely different feel...It's wierd but I LOVE it..
As for the audio wizard,Richard..well..what can one say..more strength to your right arm, Sir.
All those hours alone with your Sennheisers were well spent , and Matts 'blooper' on
'By The Way' was just priceless , after reading Micheles' book and knowing how Matt enjoyed a joke,I can't imagine anything more exhilarating than sharing a joke with the wonderful Matt Monro.
Love to All
Greg

Many thanks for that Greg - Glad your enjoying it. Just to clear things up I actually use Audio Technica ATH-M50's rather than Sennheisers, but fair point, I do spend hours locked away (Or should be!).
